We have signed up to a new charter that pledges to improve the way technology is used to give pupils an enriched and enhanced learning experience. The Next Generation Learning Charter was launched by Becta, the government's agency for technology in education. The schools will be using the self-review framework provided by Becta to review their use of technology across all aspects of school life and to inform their overall school improvement stategy and plans.

Activemark 2008

E-mail Print PDF

For the third year running, our schools have been awarded the Activemark kitemark, reflecting our committment to ensuring that all pupils engage in at least two hours of high quality PE and school sport each week. We continue to improve the variety of PE/sports opportunities available to the children and, to broaden their experiences, we join in regular cluster events with other schools throughout the school year.

Note that while it remains valid for the period of its award, the Active Mark was discontinued in 2010 following the election of the new government.

Financial Management Standard in Schools Kitemark

E-mail Print PDF

The schools underwent external assessment against the DCSF Financial Management Standard in Schools criteria in November 2006 and were successful in achieving the kitemark. This achievement shows the schools to have the characteristics you would expect to find in a school that is well managed financially; these cover Leadership and Governance, People Management, Policy and Strategy, Partnership and Resources and Processes. The standard is not yet compulsory for primary schools and we are the first confederated primary schools in North Yorkshire to have achieved the award. Website link: http://www.fmsis.info
